We stay in atmospheric progressive rock with the Germans of 'starfish64' who, after 'The Future in Reverse' in 2018 released a new album at this end of 2020, entitled 'The Crimson Cabinet'. It has now been almost fifteen years since 'Dieter Hoffmann' began his adventure and this latest opus continues to offer us a quiet and refined progressive rock like previous productions in the movement of groups like 'Mystery', 'Mostly Autumn' or 'tRKproject'.

After the short introduction 'In the Lobby' made of different sound effects, 'Spindrift' offers us a first rhythmic composition in a relaxed atmosphere which calmly unfolds a beautiful melody, then, 'Lost & Found' is a long ballad in which we let ourselves be rocked pleasantly from start to finish and 'Future Perfect Tense' continues in this quiet atmosphere with a new melody which is embedded immediately in the head and which involves a children's choir. The following compositions continue in this same atmosphere, with, first of all, 'Mr. O 'Brayne' which, in the sweetness, still offers us a beautiful melody, then come the two long developments with the eponymous title of the album and 'The Future In Reverse' (which is the title of the penultimate album) for a new invitation to a delicious journey filled with delicacy and sensitivity, the album ending with 'Nowhere Bound (Aimless Mix)' for a last relaxing ballad that appeared on the EP 'The Lost Boat EP' released in 2014 and has been re-recorded.

In summary, the Germans of 'starfish64' continue to offer us a progressive rock conducive to relaxation that should appeal to a whole audience favoring the soft side of this style like the groups mentioned above which we could add references like 'RPWL' or 'Gazpacho'...
