After a beautiful 'An Altered State Of Joy' released in 2016 (see here), the band of 'Dieter Hoffmann' continues in its momentum to offer us a new album 'The Future in Reverse'. We find again the atmosphere that was present on the previous album, that is to say an atmospheric progressive rock that unwinds its melancholy melodies and planing as in 'Tomorrow In Dark Water' which embarks us on a small cloud and whose chorus makes think of certain themes of 'Barclay James Harvest'. For this new album, Dieter offers us two long titles that each have 3 parts with first 'Determination' and its throbbing tempo interspersed in part 2 by an electronic interlude close to 'Jean-Michel Jarre' music, and then, 'Charting an Abyss' with its 18 minutes is a good summary of this latest opus with 3 parts that are one and that immerse us in a cocoon where we surrender completely to different melodic lines. In short, with this new album, the Germans of 'starfish64' still release a quality album and this 'The Future in Reverse' should be a reference for all fans of atmospheric progressive rock...
