My next reviews will be devoted to the hard-rock and melodic metal albums released in February 2023. First of all, let's look at the metal from the Swedish band 'REXORIA' who, after two good albums which made them known ('Queen of Light' in 2018 and 'Ice Breaker' in 2019), return with a third opus, 'Imperial Dawn', which continues the adventure with tube melodies that follow one after the other. From the start, 'Paradigme' puts you in the mood with an addictive first chorus and if you hang on to this first title, there is a good chance that you will be satisfied because it is then a suite of melodic jewels that are added in the head immediately: alternately, fast rhythms and mid-tempos tickle your ears with pleasure and we can only regret that the Swedes did not include ballads which would have diversified this album but let's not sulk our pleasure because everything is done to pass a wonderful moment of listening thanks to talented artists led by the excellent singer 'Frida Ohlin', the guitarist 'Edwin Plemberg' from 'Metalite' having joined them as a keyboard player which beautifully densifies the ensemble as on 'Set Me on Fire'.
In short, nothing to throw away in this new album by the Swedish 'REXORIA' who continue to offer us melodies that we taste with delight and 'Imperial Dawn' should appeal to all audiences who love energetic and festive melodic metal... | |
