It's with this second album 'Absence' that I discovered 'Black Strat Band', a Greek band from Corfu that has been around for 20 years and whose first album was released in 2016. Listening first titles, I found myself in the universe where I feel good and who accompanied me since my childhood: first, I have the impression on the instrumental parts to listen to the Floyds, then, the melodic lines are very accessible and recall the big bands of the 70's like 'Barclay James Harvest' and finally, the titles structures make that we have for example 'Personal Demons' and 'Dead End' which only make one and which together develop a progressive structure: it is still a nod to the Floyds in 'Dead End', it seems to have a mix of 'Welcome to the Machine' and 'Comfortably Numb' but without any plagiarism because the result is quite different and It is certainly no coincidence that the Greeks called themselves 'Black Strat Band' which is the legendary guitar of 'David Gilmour' (see Live at Pompei' here). It’s Impossible to find a title below the others and past the last notes of 'Rough Times', we only want to press the play button again. In summary, this 2nd album of the Greeks is a wonderful journey in the 70s with a modern sound and, even if the time has passed, we say that this style has no age and we can only thank 'Black Strat Band' for this beautiful gift at the end of 2018...
