After 'Be Myself' in 2017 (see here), the American 'Sheryl Crown' releases a new album she announces as the last and for the occasion, an impressive number of guests collaborated on these 17 titles, partly derived from his impressive discography. Of course, the American country artists are well represented with for example 'Emmylou Harris', 'Maren Morris', 'Bonnie Raitt', 'Chris Stapleton', 'Willie Nelson', 'James Taylor' or 'Vince Gill' but also blues singer 'Mavis Staples' or rapper 'Chuck D'. We also find prestigious names like 'Stevie Nicks', singer of 'Fleetwood Mac' ('Prove You Wrong'), or 'Eric Clapton' and 'Sting' in the beautiful ballad 'Beware of Darkness' written by 'Georges Harrisson', or 'Neil Young' in 'Cross Creek Road' or 'Keith Richard' in the song of the 'Rolling Stones' 'The Worst' or 'Joe Walsh' in the song 'Still the Good Old Days' who had written it with Sheryl. But, the title that brings without context the greatest emotion is without context 'Redemption Days' which was taken up by 'Johnny Cash' just before his death and which appears in his post-album 'American VI: Is not No Grave' and that 'Sheryl Crow' resumed by adapting Johnny's voice on Sheryl version. In summary, it’is a great lady of folk/rock music in the great American tradition who bows out, still young (she says 'it will certainly be my last album, even if never say never' ) but who should continue his career by giving concerts, and 'Threads' is the kind of album outside of time which should undoubtedly become an indispensable album of the musical memory folk and rock of the last forty years...
