'Trishula' is the project of English guitarist 'Neil Fraser' (among others he was part of the adventure of 'Rage of Angels' of the keyboardist 'Ged Rylands' in which 'Rob Moratti' was singer) who has already released a first album 'Scare to Breathe' in 2019 and, barely a year later, it is the turn of 'Time Waits For No Man' to see the light of day and it is with this opus that I discover them. In this project the Englishman brought with him the singer 'Jason Morgan' with whom he had collaborated during his period 'Rage of Angels' and we find the keyboardist of 'Magnum', 'Rick Benton', bassist 'Dan Clark' from 'Jupiter Falls' and drummer 'Neil Ogden' guest on the remarkable latest album from 'Tony Mitchell'. In line with the great tradition of English melodic rock, they offer us 10 melodic jewels which are good in this difficult period and which take us back to the 70s/80s with groups like 'Foreigner', 'Electric Light Orchestra', 'ASIA' or 'Aerosmith'. We spend a wonderful time listening to these compositions and this from the opening title 'How It's Supposed To Be', very classic but so effective with 'Jason Morgan' who is like a fish in water and with a fair split between the sumptuous keyboard parts of 'Rick Benton' and the well-placed little guitar solo of 'Neil Fraser'. Overall, the keyboards are put forward and the production is limpid without any aggressiveness, everything flows peacefully with, first, mid-tempos with melodic lines that we immediately appropriate as if they had always done part of our life as in 'Fallen Hero', 'I Just Might' or even 'The Mighty' but also more energetic titles with 'I Want It All', 'Hear To Evil', 'The Border' or even 'Knocked Down', without forgetting the two addictive ballads 'Make Up Your Mind' and 'Every Time We Touch' that I hastened to add to my ballads playlist here.

In short, this new album of 'Trishula' is added to the beautiful 2020 releases in this style and 'Time Waits For No Man' is recommended to a large audience loving a timeless melodic rock that takes us back a few decades : to consume without moderation...
