It's still a French band playing its music for twenty years now and just released its 8th studio album with 'Luna de Papel' if we do not count collaborations with other formations (like the 'Barback Organs') and the live ones. 'Les Hurlements d'Léo', since it's about them, after a tribute of nearly 2 years to 'Mano Solo' with various guest artists and a live released in 2015, have gone back on the roads of the hexagon introduce their new baby. From the beginning, with 'Luna de Papel', it's a little melodic jewel with custom lyrics and this atmosphere that transports you and you make this little thrill so characteristic because they have the gift of mixing the sound of rock electric instruments with the nostalgia brought by the brass, the strings and the accordion. Then we take in full face 'Cumbia' with its catchy rhythmic denouncing the cross of our time (well, we would get closer to the last 'Ange' with 'Heureux !' Here). And it continues with 'L’appétit' which continue in the same style with a furious rock. We could cite all the titles so everyone brings his lot of emotion as in 'La Liste' where the oud and the accordion mix together as to better show the universality of the music. And then, there is ‘Les autres' who made me go back a few decades back with the same intensity that had been my first meeting with ‘Ces gens là' because I found the same emotion that could have been transmit 'Jacques Brel'. In short, as you will understand and although all this is necessarily very subjective, 'Luna de Papel' is for me to rank in the rare albums that makes you feel better and which are part of the great tradition of French song...
