'Pinski' is a new band brought to us by the 'Gentle Art Of Music' label (producing quality artists like 'Frequency Drift' (see their latest album here). Led by the singer and guitarist 'Insa Reichwein', they are not easy to classify because we sail between energetic hard-rock and folk/rock much wiser with an electric acoustic mix. The first part of the album is powerful and punchy with the 3 tracks 'Ugly Side', 'Sound The Alarm' and 'III', 'Butterfly' being the only acoustic composition calmer then, the following alternates tracks between pop and rock like 'Humanity' or 'Letter of Regret', more rock like 'Fire' and others between pop and folk, where acoustics take over the electric ones like 'Society', the beautiful ballad 'Staying Alive' and the acoustic 'Light Calling' which closed the opus beautifully. In all this variety, 'Insa Reichwein' has an exceptional voice that can be powerful in energetic titles but also emotional in quiet moments like 'Red Sun' where she alternates between the two registers. In addition, the artists who accompany her are also full of talent and contribute largely to make this 'Sound the Alarm' an album of a very high quality. In short, this new band 'Pinski' is a very good surprise 2018 and if you are open to various melodic styles between pop, folk, rock and hard-rock, this opus is for you... | |
