I discovered them with their first album 'Satur9 & Indigo' released in 2020 and the Dutch from 'My Arrival' returned with a new opus at the end of November 2024. Following on from the first album, 'Lost 3mbers' continues in this progressive rock in the vein of the bands from the early 2000s. Continuing the story of 'Satur9 & Indigo', the main character now lives on the planet Kepler 186F from where he wants to
Save the Earth. As I had already mentioned in my first review, the atmospheres deployed by 'My Arrival' remind me of the Germans of 'RPWL' especially since the singing of 'Richard de Geest' is close to that of 'Yogi Lang'. This is what we find in compositions like 'Alone' or the title song which is magnificent and, throughout this album, a kind of positive melancholy, conducive to escape, emerges from this album with a few more energetic tracks such as 'Rock' and 'Castaway'. In the melodic gems department, I particularly liked 'Your Voice' with the remarkable mixed vocal duo of 'Richard de Geest' with 'Cindy van der Meer', invited for the occasion, and, 'So Close' is also very pleasant with its atmosphere filled with a beautiful serenity on very beautiful melodic lines. Also note that 'Ben van Gastel' lends his voice on the first and last tracks, 'A Mind Caves' and 'At the Aphelion of Faith', bringing a certain emotion to these two beautiful atmospheric tracks.
In summary, the Dutch of 'My Arrival' offered us at the end of 2024 an excellent album, filled with a beautiful melancholy, which is to be enjoyed quietly with headphones, and which is a kind of invitation to a soothing and relaxing inner journey... | |
