From time to time, it's very nice to get some well-calibrated anthems between your ears that will make a stadium scream and, this time, it's the Swedes from 'Majestica', who after 'A Christmas Carol' dating from 2020, have just released a new album, 'Power Train', which takes us on a power metal train with all the ingredients of this style of music. No need to draw you a picture, 'Majestica' doesn't do things by halves and delivers 10 epic compositions, with choruses that get stuck in your head right away, and this, right from the start, the title song takes us into a hell of a tempo, the double pedal leading the dance, and which offers an addictive first chorus (see the video above). The sequel follows 'No Pain, No Gain' and 'Battle Cry' which are all memorable up-tempos and we can also mention 'Thunder Power', 'A Story In The Night' (see the video here), 'Victorious', the latter offering us a very honeyed chorus to sing in concert, the album ending on 'Alliance Anthem' melodic as desired. We will still note some more diversified compositions with the mid-tempo 'Megatrue', a sort of epic procession of very heavy power metal, but also 'My Epic Dragon' with its grandiose orchestral arrangements, without forgetting the anthem 'Go Higher' which takes us back to the 80s with its electronic sounds. In summary, even if they are not going to revolutionize much (but that is certainly not the goal), the Swedes of 'Majestica' release an album full of unstoppable melodies to get in shape for a whole day and this 'Power Train' should please all those who like power metal offering immediate accessibility... | |
