After the very good releases in melodic rock in the past month, with 'The Roads', 'Black Paisley' and 'StreetLore', we can now add the new 'Rob Moratti' which is still a compendium of addictive melodic hits that we savour with happiness. After the last three albums which have been reviewed by myprogmusic ('Transcendent' from 2016, 'Renaissance' from 2019 and 'Paragon' in 2020), here is their worthy successor, 'Epical', which contains 11 equally catchy compositions that should satisfy all fans from AOR. And, to begin with, if you are not sensitive to the melodic lines of 'Can I Hold You For A While' (see video above), this album is not made for you, but for the others, you will certainly be seduced by 'Nothing Left To Say' between ballad and mid-tempo, the trio of compositions that follow one another with 'Valerie', 'Hold On' and 'For The Rest Of My Life' and their addictive refrains or even the melodic jewels that are 'Love' (see video here) and 'You Keep Me Waiting', the album ending with a catchy 'Strangers'. In summary, 'Rob Moratti', surrounded by talented musicians, continues to deliver us from the AOR of great class by offering us new catchy melodies from the first listen that we always have a great pleasure to listen to. and which should be on repeat for a lot of melodic rock fans... | |
