After 'In the same blood' which was a good surprise in 2018 (see here), a little more than a year later, the Frenchs of 'Trust' come back with a new album 'Son of Fight'. First of all, to all those who have remained glued to 'Antisocial' (it's going to be 40 years next year!), Bernie and Nono have also taken them (the forty years) and you know many French groups of sexagenarians who still send heavy music as they do in titles like ‘Portez vos croix’, ‘Les murs finiront par tomber’ or ‘On va prendre cher’. For my part, the great strength of this album is, first of all, that it presents a variety in the compositions with an authentic sound, the recording having been made as a capture of a live and secondly , that Bernie has not lost his statements with titles like 'Amer Saheb (Massoud l’Afghan)', ‘Ce n’est pas le Corée du Sud’ or ‘Miss univers’ in which he attacks our politicians. Side style, we go from a hard-rock powerful (‘Portez vos croix’, ‘Les murs finiront par tomber’) at mid-tempo blues/rock (‘Delanda’, ‘Tendances’) through boogie/rock close to 'Status-Quo' (‘On va prendre cher’), classic rock classique (‘J’ai cessé de compter’, 'Y'a Pas Le Feu Mais Faut Brûler’) or even muscular rockabilly (‘Le soleil brille pour tous’) without forgetting the rhythmic reggae on ‘Miss univers’.
In short, the French of 'Trust' continue their merry way by diversifying their style while keeping this spirit of protest that is their hallmark and 'Son of Fight' should beyond fans fill all fans of a multi-faceted rock thanks to accessible titles with effective guitar solos...
