'Beyond God' is a symphonic metal band founded in 2008 by drummer 'Ferry Guns' with two studio albums 'A Moment Of Black' in 2016 (see here) and 'Dying To Feel Alive' in 2017 (see here). 2019 sees the release of 'All Strings Attached' which has the distinction of being an acoustic album with compositions from the first albums and also containing 3 other titles 'Moving On', 'Feel the Shame' and 'Keep you Alive'. Even if we had already had a glimpse of his vocal qualities in more refined titles like 'Nocturne' or in the beautiful power ballad 'Cursed', we rediscover the singing of 'Meryl Foreman' without the power of electric guitars and from the beginning, with 'When Lightning Strikes', I must say that the magic operates and shows even more the talent of this singer who occupies much more space and can remind in some places 'Marcela Bovio' who also lent to this exercise in the beautiful album 'Through Your Eyes' (see here). 'Moving On' follows in this cozy atmosphere with a beautiful piano/vocals duet, then 'Prince Creep' has been rearranged with a beautiful accompaniment between the 3 acoustic guitars of Peter, Dennis and Winkel. The following is the image of these first titles and even if the version of 'All in All' is quite similar to that of the album 'Dying To Feel Alive' (normal because it was already partly acoustic), the whole conveys a real emotion and shows a very different face of the originals. In summary, the Dutch of 'Beyond God' show that they have more than one string to their bow and 'All Strings Attached' is a very endearing album, of course very far from the metal, and which should touch, beyond of the base of fans, a much wider audience...
