'Albion' is a Polish group that has more than twenty years o existence and evolves in a neo-progressive style. Since their last album (see here), with the departure of singer 'Katarzyna Sobkowicz-malec' and keyboards 'Krzysztof Malec', 'Jerzy Antczak' appealed to former members of the group, the singer 'Anna Batko' and the bassist 'Pawel Konieczny'. Despite this change of line up, 'Albion' continues in this characteristic style because Anna, who is in the same register as Katarzyna, has a clear and captivating singing that makes me think of 'Olivia Sparnenn' (see the last album of 'Mostly Autumn' here), this being obvious in the beginning of 'Lullaby'. With the leaving of ‘Krzysztof Malec', 'Jerzy Antczak' took obviously more space with his guitar playing which is highlighted and we find his beautiful solos' Gilmourien' which gives this atmospheric style where it emerges a certain melancholy. At the beginning, with 'Calt It a Sin', the listener has a condensed of the talent of this formation in 3 minutes with a very calm first part alternating Anna's aerial voice and Jerzy's acoustic guitar playing, then in the last minute, an explosion of power with electric instruments which come on the scene. We are therefore navigating in an atmospheric universe that slowly rises in tension to finally fall back as in the very beautiful title track of the album. In summary, with this latest album, the Polishs of ‘Albion' return very beautifully on the front of the neo-progressive scene and 'You'll Be Mine' is recommended for those who love the progressive with an atmospheric tendency...
