2017 sees the release of a new album by Sir ‘Steve Hackett’, ‘The Nigh Siren’. We can’t talk about a solo album so much he has surrounded himself of musicians and singers of diverse horizons of the international scene. At the first listen, it gives the impression of going around the world in a little less than one hour with multiple and varied influences supported most often by instruments typical of each country. We go from a 'Behind The Smoke' mixing the East and the West, to 'El Nino', a patchwork between a classical orchestra, a tribe and a rock band (and it's not me who says but Steve himself in a wonderful Amarok interview Here). I could quote all the titles so much they are rich and remarkably interpreted. In conclusion, it is another proof that music has something of noble by being multi-cultural and that it’s an immense vector of gathering all around the world, in areas where politics remains a source of division...
