The Canadians of 'Dream Machines' band evolve into a rather dark progressive rock and have just released a new concept album, 'Black Science', that speaks about the harmfulness of technology in our humanity. To tell you all, I did not hang right away, due to certain length and musical phrases repeated too many times for my taste and it is after few listenings that I achieved to enter in their universe which is very close of some compositions of 'Roger Water' as for example 'The Cannons Cry' or 'Heavy Water' that remind me of the atmosphere of 'The Wall'. The masterpiece of the album is 'Weimar', for more than 10 minutes long, which takes us into a progressive fresco with all the ingredients that we expect in this style: a construction in different drawers, a melodic weaving which is declined under different forms, a good balance between sung and instrumental parts and icing on the cake, a wonderful interpretation and production (like the rest of the album). In the end, we have a great time listening to 'Black Science' and even if we say that this so talented band would be able to do even better, this album should please all progressive rock fans hand-reared of the ‘Floyd’...
