'Amanda Somerville' is far from unknown in the world of symphonic metal because in addition to solo albums, she has participated in various projects including the rock opera of 'Aina' and worked with many formations including lately 'Exit Eden' (see chronic here). 'Trillium' is the project she shares with her husband 'Sander Gommans', German guitarist and bassist and they had already released a first album 'Alloy' in 2011. It starts with a melodic and energetic 'Time to Shine' accessible from the first listening and a chorus that gets into your head immediately. All is in the image of this first title, classic constructions couple / chorus of 4 minutes always very effective and this little more with the song of Amanda who is as much comfortable on enegetic titles as 'Stand Up' or 'Hit Me' as much as on ballads like 'Noctura' or 'Eternal Spring' and who has an impressive vocal range. In summary, with her project 'Trillium', 'Amanda Somerville' released a very good album between symphonic and melodic metal that should be well received by all fans of bands like 'Kobra And The Lotus' (see here), 'Metalwings' (see here), 'Temperance' (see here) or 'Lyria’ (see here) to name only bands that have released albums recently in 2018...
