After 'Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie' in 2016 (see here), I come back to the new recording released a few months ago by the Danes of 'Volbeat', 'Rewind, Replay, Rebound'. They continue to distill us a powerful and melodic rock, simple but effective, the deluxe edition presenting 16 titles with some demos. Each composition is a hit in power that could be in a top 50 including the 2 titles of the second galette (listen to the melodic and effective 'Under the Influence'). They draw their influences in 50 years of different styles : muscular rockabilly with 'Pelvis on Fire', 'Die To Live' or 'Sorry Sack of Bones' but also the rock periods of the 70s and 80s with 'Last Day Under' The Sun', 'Cheapside Sloggers' or 'Parasite' through much more pop melodies like 'Rewind The Exit', 'Maybe I Believe', 'Cloud 9' or 'The Awekening of Bonnie Parker' and songs quieter like 'When We Were Kids' or '7: 24'. In summary, with this last 'Volbeat', everything is together to have a good time with accessible titles and catchy melodies and beyond the important fan base, 'Rewind, Replay, Rebound' should please a wide audience sailing between pop and rock...
