'FM' latest album, 'Thirteen' was released less than 3 months ago and the English 'Steve Overland' who, in addition to 'FM', has several projects to his credit (for example in solo with 'Overland', the latest album 'Scandalous' being released in 2020), gratifies us of a new album, 'Sundown', with the formation 'Lonerider' which in addition to Steve is composed of 'Steve Morris' (ex 'Heartland, 'Shadowman' ), 'Chris Childs' ('Thunder') and 'Simon Kirke' ('Bad Company'). After a first album 'Attitude' released in 2019, this second baby is, like you can doubt it, given the pedigree of each artist, filled with melodic hits that take us back to the best of the 70s/80s in an AOR style, starting with an energetic 'Fantasyland' in a classic style with its addictive chorus and the following titles continue in this effective melodic rock with the driving 'Cross the Border' and the rhythmic 'Undefeatable' until the first ballad break 'Harder Love'. The sequel is in the image of this beginning of the album with new melodies that we tame on the first listen, the whole being punctuated by magnificent new ballads that are 'Any Way the Wind Blows' and 'Prayer for the Lonely', this last title flirting with Westcoast and can recall 'Eagles'. In short, needless to add, 'Steve Overland', accompanied by talented artists, offers us a remarkable new album filled with beautiful melodies in a classy and timeless AOR and 'Sundown' should, without a doubt, make people happy and turn on repeat for all fans who love melodic rock, bringing us back to the 70s/80s...
