Contrary to what Spotify might have us believe, 'Diary' is the first Italian album of 'Lifestream' which evolves in a progressive rock influenced by several decades of artists and they are particularly part of the progressive Italian tradition with talent so characteristic to offer beautiful melodic lines easy to access as did and continue to do 'Premiata Forneria Marconi' (see their latest album here). So, we embark in compositions with multiple twists where alternating strength and delicacy as in 'Discoveries' where powerful guitar riffs coexist with the delicacy of the piano. And it’s impossible to miss out on 'Over the Rippling Waters', of more than 15 minutes and built in several drawers with a rhythm that hangs from the first chords and which embarks us for a wonderful journey alternating different atmospheres and which holds the listener throughout the title. In summary, this first album of the Italians 'Lifestream' and still a nice surprise 2018 in the field of progressive rock and 'Diary' is a real gateway for all those who would like to discover through accessible compositions the progressive style...
