'The Id' is an international progressive rock band that had been one of my favorites 2016 record with 'A Deserter's Tale' (see Here ). With 'The Masque', we are embedded on a story of terrorists who want to annihilate the planet with a biological weapon that turns men into zombies (see presentation Here). The songs tell the different episodes of this the downward spiral of humanity and as usual 'The Id' put music in the service of the narrative in a symphonic progressive rock style close to groups like 'Genesis', 'IQ' or 'Pendragon'. Therefore, we have to look at the whole and not listen to specific titles if we want to fully absorb this concept album. In conclusion, even though 'The Masque' is not for me as strong as 'The Deserter's Tale' (it is of course completely subjective), it should be a delight for all Progressive rock fans who are being raised to the baby bottles of the great groups of the 70s and loving that music tells a story like a film ...
