If you listen to 'Masheen Messiah' for the first time and if I tell you that they are from the land of the rising sun, you will have a hard time believing it so much that their music is inspired by the progressive rock of the 70s; and yet, this is the case, aside from the drummer 'Mark Murdock' who is American, they are all Japanese. With this debut album 'For The Light Unseen' released in June 2017, we feel that they have been influenced by the great bands of the origin of progressive rock like 'Genesis' or 'Kansas' but also we find in their style other more modern groups such as 'Pallas' or 'Arena'. In the longest compositions, they mix hard-rock parts and much more soft in others, as in the flagship title of the album 'Learning to Fly' of more than 13 minutes with a talent for catchy melodies. In short, with this first studio album 'Made In Japan', 'Masheen Messiah' show us that we can make accessible progressive rock outside the occident and that 'For the Light Unseen' should please a large audience amateur of this style born in the years 60/70...
