'Thomas Konder' is a German author and multi-instrumentist who releases his first studio recording which is a concept album about the theme of the labyrinth presented as a metaphor of life that confronts us with difficulties and challenges that make us take decisions to move forward and achieve our goals. At the musical level, Thomas is influenced by the big rock bands of the 70s whether in the field of progressive like 'Yes', 'Alan Parsons Project' or ‘ELP' but also more classical formations like 'Supertramp' or 'Styx’. After a short instrumental introduction, 'Labyrinth' opens the ball with 'Roger Hodgson' keyboards and a beautiful melody that takes us back 40 years. The sequel continues to make us travel between melancholy compositions like 'Only the Wind Knows', 'Solitary Road' or 'Morning Sun' and other energetic ones like 'Puzzle' or 'Firedance' but the main composition is the last title 'A Step a Day' of nearly 11 minutes that takes us to a real musical 'labyrinth' with multiple twists typical of the progressive. In conclusion, 'Labyrinth' is a wonderful journey that takes us a few decades back and this first album of 'Thomas Konder' should appeal to a large audience who was cradled by the great big rock bands of the 70s...
