After an excellent 'Byte The Bullet' in 2017 (see Here) and the tour that followed, the Germans of 'Bonfire' come back with a new album in 2018, 'Temple of Lies'. We say that with such close outings, the risk is to fade especially in this style of music because you must constantly hang the fan with catchy compositions. Well, the least we can say is that this new album perfectly fulfills its purpose and, for my part, is perhaps still above the previous one. After a short instrumental introduction 'In The Beginning', it's about 45 minutes of good and melodic hard rock if I do not count the 19 minutes of the last title 'Friedensreich II - The Return Of The Zünsler Into The T.O.L.’ which is more a great patchwork of sound mixing words and music that is humorous but is not necessarily of the best taste. 'Temple Of Lies' opens the ball with a hell rhythmic and a chorus that will make a fury in concert and if you do not move your whole body on this title is that you are not made for this music because the rest is of the same order, even if some titles are closer to a hard rock more AOR like 'On the Wings of an Angel' or are more mid-tempo while keeping the same power as 'Feed The Fire' (Like The Bonfire)’. The power ballade is not forgotten with 'Comin' Home' which is covered in acoustic at the end of the album and if you are followers of these compositions, know that 'Bonfire’ had made a sumptuous album in 2009 of all their ballads available on Spotify (see Here). In summary, 'Bonfire' continues to perpetuate beautiful hard-rock melodic for over 30 years : 'Temple of Lies' is still there to prove it and, for all fans of this style, this last album is to consume without moderation...
