'Inner Core' is a German band that has just released their first album 'Soultaker'. With the arrival of the female singer 'Anna Rogg' and the violinist 'Francesca Schenk', the musical direction goes towards symphonic metal. At the beginning, 'Soultaker', of 8 minutes, takes us in a catchy rhythm where Anna already shows that she has all the vocal qualities for this kind of title and where Massimo demonstrates his talent of guitarist. The sequel is the same level with dynamic and melodic titles like 'Sweet Addiction', 'Blame' or 'Monsters', other mid-tempo like 'Snowstorm', 'Crucified' or 'Ghost Dust' and others finally much quieter like the ballad 'KeepThe Distance'. Also note the magnificent last title 'Into Eternity' which mixes power and softness and which summarizes perfectly this first opus. In short, even if 'Inner Core' is only at the beginning, this first album is a faultless and already demonstrates an ability to take a good place between 'Within Temptation', 'Delain' and confreres...
