'FM' is a band, as its name suggests of rock FM which had a first period of activity in the years 80/90 at the same time as 'Def Leppard' then, after nearly 15 years of inactivity, was reformed in 2010 and 'Atomic Generation' is the 6th album of this new period. We are still in melodic hard-rock influenced by the 80s and the first title 'Black Magic' is the perfect illustration with an energetic but very effective chorus that should be resumed in chorus by the public. Follows, 'Too Much of a Good Thing' that contrasts with the first title because much more typical AOR see Westcoast that would be closer to 'Foreigner'. Throughout the album, we navigate between 2 waters with energetic titles like 'In It for the Money', 'Stronger' (there is' Deep Purple 'inside) or' Make the Best of What You Got 'but also other compositions between pop and rock like 'Killed By Love' and its classic but very effective chorus just like 'Golden Days' (close to the ‘Bee Gees’or 'Playing Trick on Me' that makes me think more of the Latin rhythm of 'Santana' (until the guitar solo). Finally, the obligatory ballads are present with 'Do You Love Me Enough' and 'Love is the Law' which beautifully closes the album. In short, as you will have understood, with this latest album, the English of 'FM' released a melodic album and very accessible mixing different genres that should reach a wide audience that likes bands of the 80s as varied as 'Deep Purple', 'Foreigner' or 'Santana’...
