'Cosmograf' is a progressive rock project by the multi-instrumentist Englishman 'Robin Armstrong', whose I had chronicled the album 'The Unreasonable Silence' released in 2016 (see Here) and has just released 'The Heay-Man Dreams' which is his 6th LP. Always faithful to himself, he tells us a new story of a laborer who dies prematurely leaving a family behind him. His widow, in his memory, builds a scarecrow that lets itself scattered across time and who to comfort himself begins to dream. Considering the theme, the compositions are therefore more melancholic and develop a calmer rock thinking evidently of 'Pink Floyd' in their first period with for example the first title 'Thetered and Bound' and its introduction made of a monotone sound with keyboards that prepares the arrival of a slow and dark melody that envelops you little by little to not let you go. The sequel is the image of this first title and therefore requires to completely surrender oneself to music to take full advantage of all the titles which are all of a rare intensity. In summary, 'The Hay-Man Dreams' is more than a suite of compositions but a story to tame through listening and should please all lovers of progressive rock that privilege the feeling to listen...
