'TumbleTown' is the project of 3 Dutchmen who already have a few years of flying in the progressive sphere. After their first opus 'Done With the Coldness' in 2013, 2018 sees the release of 'Never Too Late'. After a short instrumental introduction reminiscent of the big names of neo-progressive, 'One Giants Stage' reveals their style which is a kind of melting pot between formations of the seventies as 'Jethro Tull' ('Han Uil' has a bit the same tessiture as 'Ian Anderson'), 'Genesis' or 'Pink-Floyd' and more contemporary artists like 'Steven Wilson', 'Mystery' or 'RPWL'. Overall, the atmosphere is melancholic with slow tempos and the melodic lines are accessible but as often in this genre, some compositions are more complex like 'Transatlantic' or 'Do Not Leave Me Now' and require several listening while others, like the very melodious 'If I Should Meet You' or 'All Because of Me' are much more classic in the construction. In summary, the Dutch of 'TumbleTown' release an album of great quality and if you are a fan of progressive through the ages, then, this 'Never Too Late' is for you...
