After 'Elusion' that I presented to you a few days ago (see here), 2019 saw the release of a large number of new symphonic metal albums of not part of the major groups. Here is a sample of these releases with several formations and a chronicle per day, during five days, in styles that can remind the tenors of this genre.
First, we go in Slovakia with an opus that was released 6 months ago with 'Smog of Tomorrow' from 'Symfobia' which is the band's second album, the first 'Way Of The Queen' dating back 2015 (see here). From the first title, their universe recalls the melodic lines of 'Epica' and their particularity is to have two singers who offer us beautiful duets throughout the 11 compositions (the last composition 'Človek' being a cover in Slovak from 'From the Ashes'). The set is particularly melodic and accessible from the first listening with a variety between each title and within the compositions themselves that have changes of intensity and tempo quite frequent as in 'Hungry' or 'Bury It' or in 'From Survivor to Creator'. About quieter moments, 'From The Ashes' and 'Flowing Down' have nothing to envy the best ballads of the style and the duo Erika / Simona brings a vocal richness with the addition of very beautiful choirs. In summary, the Slovaks of 'Symfobia' have evolved since their first album and thus confirms all their potential that will undoubtedly allow them to become known to a wider public, a lover of symphonic metal...
