'Soul Enema' is an Israeli band that is tagged progressive metal and has just released its 2nd studio album. For the occasion they have called upon prestigious guests of the progressive stage as 'Arjen Lucassen' or 'Yossi Sassi'. Not evident to find a lot of metal but what is certain is that they mix a lot of styles that go from pop to metal through jazz, symphonic, rock and psychedelic with obviously multiple influences in introducing acoustic instruments such as Sitare, Violon or Flute. Led by the beautiful voice of 'Noa Gruman' (not to mention the register, she reminds me of 'Annie Aslam' in her tone), they deliver us titles all different each other, passing from an ‘Oman Ra' mixing Orient and Occident to the progressive 'Cannabalissimo Ltd.'. With 'Spymania', it's a light and melodic title that flirts with the seventies jazz-rock. The continuation is very varied until the magnificent ballad 'Eternam Child' and the beautiful guitar solo of Arjen. In short, this 'Clans and Clones and Clowns', by its diversity, is an unclassifiable album and if you look for something special apart from any convention mixing 40 years of progressive music, this album should please you...
