The Americans of 'Seven Spiers' started in 2013 and after a first EP in 2014, have just released their first studio album. They describe themselves as 'Theatrical Metal' and it's pretty well seen because their compositions borrow a little bit from different genres of metal, specifically, melodic, gothic, symphonic, power and even death with an extraordany talent for theatrical stage such as the magnificent 'Cabaret of Dreams' where female singer 'Adrienne Cowan' is alternately languorous and unbridled. After the instrumental introduction of rigor in this kind of opus ('The Siren'), the title 'Encounter' introduces some choruses close to 'Epica'. Thereafter, each composition brings a different view on the band with energetic titles like 'Choices', epic as 'Closure', sweet as '100 Days', fast as 'Stay', extreme with 'The Paradox' and so on. Special mention for Adrienne who owns all the palettes of female metal singers which allows her to adapt to the style of each title. To sum up, where some bands slow down and are not able to renew themselves, 'Seven Spiers' brings a new wind on metal and this 'Solveig' very varied, although it will probably remain reserved for an amateur audience of diversity, is one of the very good surprises 2017...
