After 'Quantum 8' released in 2022, 'Phil Vincent', with his project 'D'Ercole', releases his ninth album and continues to offer us an impressive frequency of studio recordings because the last solo, 'No Respect', dated July 2022 and he also released with his other project 'Tragik', 'Cry for Love' end of last year. We So let's find this completely original mix between well-tempered hard rock and more moderate melodic rock. And in this last album, we begin first of all with the three hard rock burns 'Trial By Fire', 'Make it Alone' and 'Peacemaker' filled with a beautiful energy then, with 'Synergy' which follows and which is made up of two parts, we go from a ballad to again direct and effective hard rock. The suite continues with a muscular 'Fighting to Survive' with 'Vince O'Regan' which delights us on the guitar followed by 'No Place Left To Hide' with its catchy rhythm which should make more than one headbang. Much calmer, 'Real Life' is an AOR melodic jewel and we come to the surprise of this album, 'The Broken Heart' which is made up of 4 parts and which is a long development: we cannot strictly speak of progressive but it is a river title which begins in a calm way à la 'Barclay James Harvest' and which alternates different intensities and rhythms with very beautiful guitar solos and remarkable vocal harmonies, the melodic lines being always very catchy, the third part recalling the atmospheres of certain titles of 'Alan Parsons' and the epic and powerful finale returning to the theme and the slow opening tempo being quite remarkable.
In summary, the albums of the various projects of 'Phil Vincent' follow each other at a good frequency, continuing to offer us a very nice mix between muscular compositions and other more moderate ones and this last opus of 'D'Ercole ' is there again to prove it to us and should make happy all lovers of good rock and direct and effective melodic hard rock... | |
