Listening to the first tracks of Uriah Heep 's latest album,' Living the Dream ', the time machine switched on by itself and took me back a few decades back to a time when' Firefly ' was constantly rotating on my turntable until wear out the last furrow and where I discovered a hard-rock with authentic artists who played their music thoroughly. Indeed, with a few more years, the original passion is still there with titles that catch you from the first chords like the energetic 'Grazed by Heaven' and its addictive refrain or 'Living the Dream' with its variations of tempo or again 'Take Away My Soul' where and 'Phil Lanzon' and 'Mick Box' send us two masterful solos. But the English of ‘Uriah Heep' also have severall string to their bow because they know how to vary the pleasures by proposing for example the long development' Rocks in the Road 'with all the ingredients that made their fame between breaking rhythm and parts instrumental reminiscent of the progressive of the first era; the ballads are also present with 'Waters Flowin' or 'Dreams of Yesteryear' which closes the album beautifully. In short, with 'Living the Dream', the English Uriah Heep 'show that after nearly 50 years, they continue to offer good hard-rock direct and authentic without taking a single wrinkle and this for our greatest pleasure...
