The 'Big Big Train' British band have bounced back after the tragic death of their singer 'David Longdon' in 2021 with the release of ' The Likes of Us' in early 2024, and it is the turn of a sumptuous live set to see the light of day, lasting two and three quarter hours, recorded in September 2023 at London's 'Cadogan Hall' and which is accompanied by a blu-ray. Needless to say, this set, which is a mix of the two evenings of concerts in London, is pure happiness for all fans but also for all lovers of progressive rock. The full line-up (the only thing missing is 'Dave Forster' who was replaced by 'Maria Barbieri') offers us a very nice anthology of the group's discography with the inclusion of an acoustic set in the middle of the concert and a significant portion of compositions taken from the two albums 'English Electric' from 2012 and 2013. To get a little preview, several videos are available on youtube: these are 'A Boy in Darkness', 'Love Is The Light', 'The Connection Plan' and album trailer. In short, this live performance of 'Big Big Train' which draws on two sumptuous concert evenings should satisfy not only all fans of the group but also all those who love symphonic progressive and, to fully enjoy this mega-concert, the Qobuz version offers a high-fidelity version in 96 khz but you can also add the image by getting the blu-ray which brings an additional dimension to this 'A Flare On The Lens'... |
