Without transition, after the melancholic atmosphere of 'Kauan', we completely change of register with the festive progressive rock of Sweden of 'A.C.T' who had released two EPs, 'Rebirth' in 2019 and 'Heatwave' in 2021 and who are doing it again with a fairly short new album of around thirty minutes, between EP and LP, called 'Falling'. No surprise, we're on board for 6 direct and effective tracks with melodies that go straight into your head (if we exclude the intro and the outro made of sound effects). Listening to the first two titles, if a smile does not form on your lips, it is because you are not made for the lightness and carelessness of these melodic lines which bring us back to the best of festive rock. of the 80s, because after the introduction 'Fall In', 'Digging a Hole' unfolds a catchy and addictive first melody which puts you in shape for a whole day and which is followed by 'The Girl Without a Past' which continues in this way and which would restore the morale to any depressed person without taking any anti-depressant. We continue with 'Breathe' which is filled with choirs from another era and which brings us back to the best of the light songs of the 'Beatles' with a new melody which gives this impression of having already heard but which always does an immense good, then , 'Race Against Time' hardens the tone with a more muscular rhythm section and a more progressive face while keeping an accessible melodic side. The last two compositions have nothing to envy to the first three and 'One Last Goodbye' takes us on a bath of youth that 'Supertramp' and 'The Earth Will Be Gone' would not have denied, ending the whole with a magnificent symphonic ballad which, this time, has its eye on the most festive titles of 'Queen' with resplendent choirs. Note that three videos are available on youtube with 'The Girl Without a Past' (see above), 'A Race Against Time' et 'One Last Goodbye'.

In short, the Swedes of A.C.T' continue to charm us with melodies that remain engraved in the memory for a long time and if you like a festive and light rock that is approached at the first listening, you are in the right place and you should have a wonderful time listening to this short album 'Falling'...
