The Americans of 'AfterTime', who offered us in 2020 a very promising first album (see here), do it again in this end of 2021 with this time a 25 minute EP also including in addition the instrumentals of 4 of the 5 tracks. In an epic symphonic metal, this new opus is the sequel to the album 'The Farthest Shore' and, right from the start, with the title track, we embark on the history of humanity put on video in the form of a cartoon (see above), the atmosphere given off being grandiose thanks to generous backing vocals that can remind 'Epica'. In the same style, the following track 'Forge Your Destiny' and adds some growls from 'Brad Sturgis', then, the ballad 'Reflection' (see video here) is a track already known in the first EP 'World We've Lost' from 2017 and also shows all the talent of 'Sarah Wolf' in sparse atmospheres. As for 'The Dream Is Still Alive', the shadow of Epica' hovers over this melodic composition bathed in beautiful vocal harmonies and in beautiful variations of intensity. And finally, the instrumental 'A Voyage Remembered' ends the EP with an imposing symphonic piece offering rich orchestral arrangements and majestic choirs. In short, the Americans of 'Afterlife' make us wait before the next album with a remarkable EP that should please every fan of epic symphonic metal...
