Almost at the same time, the two ex 'Pink-Floyd', 'Nick Mason' and 'Roger Waters' release their respective album from their last tour and these two concerts are absolutely not redundant because, as if they had wanted to take each twos eras of the legendary progressive rock band, 'Nick Mason' chose to perform tracks from the early period of 'Pink-Floyd' up to 'Atom Heart Mother' and 'Roger Waters' swept the period starting at 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', the only common title being 'One of these Days' from 'Meddle' which is located between the two albums mentioned above.
There was the 'The Wall' tour over several years in 2010 and 2013 which should be his last (wonderful memory of the passage to the Stade de France in September 2013 with my piece of cardboard from the wall brought back as a trophy) and then the American did it again with a new world tour in 2017 and 2018 with the 'Us + Them' tour. There, followed the film which was screened on October 3, 2019 in cinemas which allowed all the fans of 'Roger Waters' who could not go to one of the shows (of which I am a part) to be able to take advantage of this magical atmosphere and it is the turn of the DVD/Blue Ray of the show to be released at the end of 2020. We can be for or against the position taken by 'Roger Waters' but, it is clear, we can only remain admiring of these concerts which have become shows in their own right, the visual side bringing an other dimension. We therefore find mythical titles of 'Pink-Floyd' mythical albums starting chronologically with 'Meddle' , then 'The Dark Side of the Moon' which is played almost in its entirety, 'Whish You Were Here', 'Animals' (including the two longest tracks' Dogs' and' Pigs') and of course some excerpts from 'The Wall' but also three tracks from his latest album 'Is This The Life We Really Want?'.
In short, another album to have in your ideal disco and, even more in this case, the DVD / Blue Ray is also essential for a show of this magnitude with so many visual effects... | |
