We know the taste for excessiveness of the Germans of 'Powerwolf' in their successive releases and, after the imposing double album 'The Monumental Mass: A Cinematic Metal Event' in 2022, they add another one with this triple album 'Interludium' which was released in early April 2023 Admittedly, the third CD is the instrumental version of the first which does not bring much to the whole and the second album contains titles of 'Powerwolf' covered by various artists such as 'Ad Infinitum' or 'Lord Of The Lost'.

As for the main album, these are 6 original compositions, some of which have already been released as singles: at the start 'Wolves Of War' sends out a hymn like the Germans are used to laying out regularly, then the hits 'Sainted By The Storm' (see the video above), 'No Prayer At Midnight' (see the video here) and 'My Will Be Done' (see the video here), all three having already been the subject of a single. The sequel makes us discover three new titles ('Altars On Fire', 'Wolfborn' and 'Stronger Than The Sacrament') which have nothing to envy to the previous ones with always this immediate access which gives an irresistible desire to resume the chorus in choirs with 'Attila Dorn', then, 'Powerwolf' brings up to date two old titles with, first of all, 'Living On A Nightmare' which dates from 2012 and 'Midnight Madonna' which appeared on the Earbook edition of 'The Sacrament of Sin' from 2018 which adds two addictive melodies, the album ending with 'Bête du Gévaudan' which is the French version released as a single following the original version of the album 'Call of the Wild' of 2021.

In summary, the recipe of the Germans of 'Powerwolf' has now been well established for quite some time and, even if some will regret a lack of originality, we cannot take away from them only the formula of their power metal festive with unifying melodies still works as much and that they would be very wrong to deprive themselves of it, given the millions of listens that it generates...
