Decidedly, nature is highlighted at the moment with the album 'Fauna' by 'Haken' because it's the turn of 'Rick Miller' who delighted us with his latest album 'Old Souls' from a year ago, to release a new studio recording 'Altered States '. We are therefore invited to a new atmospheric journey in the company of Rick who takes us back to this fusion between the atmospheric atmospheres of the 'Pink Floyds' and the memorable melodies of 'Alan Parsons'. Casually, this is going to be the 5th review I've done on myprogmusic since 2018 (I'll give you the list below), which is to say the impressive frequency of album releases. Then, for this reason, I won't do it again from title to title to tell you all the good things I think about this new album. So if you like hovering atmospheric rock, simply, I will limit myself to telling you that if, like many people, you are stressed by a hectic life that goes at a hundred miles an hour and you want to ask yourself for a moment, 'Altered States' (like the previous albums), is a particularly effective relaxant by replacing all the antidepressants on earth and therefore shows that music is definitely to be classified in the category of essential things. Here is its dosage to take full advantage of it: find a quiet place in your house, plug the headphones into your laptop and press the play button of your audio player or of your streaming site on the first title 'Altered States'. After a few seconds, you will see the magic of the soothing melody operate by providing you with this well-being which, little by little, will make you completely surrender to the music and let go.
In short, this latest album 'Altered States' by 'Rick Miller' takes us back to a soothing world filled with serenity and should appeal to all those who love atmospheric progressive rock and beyond, because everything has still been implemented by 'Rick Miller' to offer us catchy melodies from the first listen...
