After the very good 'Sorella Minore' in 2021 and 'And the Beauty They Perceive' still in 2021, the Australians of 'Teramaze' are back, just a year later, with a new album 'Flight of the Wounded' released in early October 2022. As with their first two opuses, they continue to offer us progressive metal that we appropriate very quickly thanks to catchy melodic lines which can be a good introduction for all those who want to discover this particular style. With 9 original compositions ranging from 5 to 10 minutes, 'Flight of the Wounded' and yet another rich and dense opus which displays an hour of music on the clock.

As they had done in their first two albums, it's the title song that welcomes us, but this time with the longest title which exceeds 10 minutes and which takes us into memorable melodic lines and which offers, in the second part, a guitar solo worthy of the name with 'Gilmourian' intonations. Follows 'Gold' (see the video above) which alternates energetic parts with an unbridled rhythm section and a catchy chorus in a slower tempo bringing this beautiful progressive diversity, then 'The Thieves Are Out' (see the video here) continues in this inventive and accessible progressive and we let ourselves get carried away in a catchy rhythm with a good alternation of the sung parts (magnificently by 'Dean Wells' who is always so expressive) and provided instrumental parts in which we delight with remarkable guitar solos. With 'Until the Lights', the first half offers us a very beautiful piano/moving voice duo which gains vigor in the second part with a faster rhythm, then, 'Ticket To The Next Apocalypse' is the title, par excellence progressive, which very well images this formation with this subtle mix between the power of metal and the immediate accessibility thanks to catchy melodic lines, atmosphere which we also find with 'For the Thrill' (see the video here), which follows and unrolls a catchy rhythm with a chorus that easily enters the head. The end of the album continues in this catchy progressive style with, first of all, 'Dangerous Me' which is cut in two parts, beginning in an energetic way and which halfway through, becomes more leisurely with a magnificent second part atmospheric, then 'Battle' is more direct and moves slightly away from progressive offering us a new memorable chorus and 'In The Ruins Of Angels' closes this beautiful album in imaginative progressive with beautiful variations of intensity throughout the title, 'Dean Wells' giving us a last magnificent vocal performance with this talent to adapt perfectly to the atmosphere of each moment and 'Christopher Zoupa' gratifying us with a magnificent guitar solo.

In summary, the Australians of 'Teramaze' continue at a fairly high frequency (we are at three albums in a year) to deliver good progressive metal with accessible melodic lines and if you liked the previous albums , you should also join this one and, for the others who don't yet know this formation and who like a catchy progressive metal at first listen, 'Flight of the Wounded' is also a good gateway to discover this Australian training...
