After their tour in 2018 which was the subject of the release in 2019 of the very good 'Lights Of Change (Live In Europe 2018)', the Australians of Anubis', deprived of a world tour in 2020 for the reasons we know and which was to see the group perform their latest album 'Homeless', nevertheless managed to organize a concert at home in 2021 and this recording is now available for streaming. You can also view the first part of this concert on YouTube, which is the entirety of 'Homeless' (see the video above) and the set also highlights other compositions in a second CD. As I had already mentioned during the release of 'Lights Of Change' in 2018, the production is perfect and, even if the 'Baroque Room' is very small (around a hundred seated spectators), the recording benefits from a very good sound and shows all the professionalism of this group in always very faithful interpretations of this atmosphere of quiet strength which emerges from their compositions. The concert ends in style with three long developments with 'The Holy Innocent' from the album 'A Tower Of Silence' from 2011, 'The collapse' from their first album '230503' from 2009 and 'Silent Wandering Ghosts' from the 'Hitchhiking to Byzantium' album from 2014 which, for my part, still gives me goosebumps, the singing of 'Robert James Moulding' being very moving and the 'Gilmourian' final guitar solo touching the stars. In short, it's another great listening moment that the Australians of Anubis' are offering us by allowing us to put the concert of the canceled 2020/2021 tour between our ears... | |
