'No Hot Ashes' is an Irish band which started his adventure in the 80s and which, at the time, had composed an album that have never been released. A reformation in 2013 has revived the group which finally more than 30 years later, released his first album under the name 'No Hot Ashes'. We are necessarily in a style of the 80s with influences from rock bands like 'Foreigner' (see their latest live here), 'Uriah Heep' or 'Toto'. The compositions are all very accessible and we navigate between energetic titles like 'Come Alive', 'Good To Look Back' or 'Jonny Redhead', others more AOR as 'Satisfied', 'Over Again' or 'Souls' and the 'Boulders' ballad typical of this era, the album ending with a beautiful acoustic song 'I Will' with country accents. In short, as the saying goes, "It's never too late to do it right," 'No Hot Ashes' is a good 80's melodic rock album and if you like the bands mentioned above, you should not be disappointed... | |
