Following on from her last album 'Vera Cruz', the Brazilian 'Edu Falaschi' continues his adventure with the same line up by announcing that Eldorado' which was released in August 2023 constitutes the second part of a trilogy of the saga of 'Jorge', the main character in the story of the album 'Vera Cruz' which serves as a medium to take us into the history of Latin music from the pre-colonial period to modern music, incorporating influences from its ancestral culture. Musically, even if the dominant style remains metal, whether power, progressive, speed or neo-classical, each composition brings its share of influences from South American culture.

And we are welcomed by the short majestic instrumental 'Quetzalcoatl' which could very well serve as musical support for a film telling a great historical fresco, then, the classical guitar takes over in the introduction to 'Señores Del Mar (Wield the Sword)' on a Spanish theme à la 'Ennio Morricone' and, after two short minutes in crescendo, the power of power metal takes up all the space with a fast first hit and benefiting from very catchy melodic lines. With 'Sacrifice', we embark on a progressive and symphonic saga always on an up-tempo and 'Edu Falaschi' shows that these vocal problems are already far away with a beautiful interaction between his singing and grandiose choirs, the instrumental parts being also remarkable. After the first two energetic tracks, 'Empty Shell' is the first ballad break and, in these atmospheres, we know that Edu Falaschi' is a master in this field (listen to his album 'Ballads' released in 2017 and the soft side of the Brazilian with the album 'Moonlight' dating from 2016) and this beautiful sweet melody is further proof with a magnificent guitar solo in the second part. Return to muscular metal with 'Tenochtitlán' which rolls out a new melodic hit at a hundred miles an hour in which drummer 'Aquiles Priester' offers us a dizzying performance and which benefits from a long instrumental section with breathtaking guitar solos. breath, without forgetting these epic choruses at 5.10. The culmination of this album, the eponymous title unfolds a progressive saga, epic as can be, which keeps us in suspense for more than 10 minutes by taking us through varied musical landscapes alternating different intensities and different rhythms, each artist bringing his stone to the table. edifice of this magnificent title. After the short comma 'Q'equ'm' sung magnificently by the Guatemalan 'Sara Curruchich' (for my part, I would have liked it to be more present on the album and that this title was a little longer), the end of the album is well balanced with always this large musical gap since of the four remaining titles, two are very muscular metal compositions, the other two being ballads: first of all, the two power metal titles are 'Reign of Bones' and 'Wings of Light', the first in speed metal quite close (too close for my taste) to 'Tenochtitlán' and the second, still very fast but much more epic with generous choirs, a melody which is grafted directly into the head and a remarkable instrumental section in the second part of the title. As for the ballads, these are two new melodic jewels which are added to the first with 'Suddenly', very romantic, and with 'In Sorrow' and its addictive chorus, both, as you can imagine, being far away from power metal.

In summary, in this latest album from Edu Falaschi', there is something for everyone between strong metal, syrupy ballads and Latin influences and if you like his great musical deviations, you should without a doubt join to 'Eldorado', especially since the Brazilian gives us remarkable vocal performances and he has surrounded himself with talented instrumentalists who magnify all his compositions also benefiting from impeccable production...
