They spoiled us with their last album ' Crime Scene' a year ago and the Germans from 'RPWL' are back but, this time, with a live performance which has also been released on blu-ray. The place they chose to immortalize this 2023 tour is the 'Poppodium Boerderij' in Zoetermeer in the Netherlands, a venue that allows quality recordings and, from this point of view, as we are used to, the band offers us impeccable production. In addition to the basic quartet ('Yogi Lang' on vocals, 'Kalle Wallner' on guitar, 'Markus Grützner' on bass and 'Marc Turiaux' on drums), we find the keyboardist 'Butsch Keys' and the two backing singers 'Caroline von Brünken' and 'Carmen Tannich', the latter having released in 2021 the album 'Tanyc' which was produced by 'Yogi Lang' and 'Karl Wallner' label, 'gentle art of music'. For the occasion, given the success of the last opus, it is in the spotlight by being entirely performed at the start of the concert and the rest of the concert is made up in addition to the essential 'Hole In The Sky' which we have always an immense pleasure to listen to and 'Roses' which generally closes each set, 'A New World' taken from the album 'Tales From Outer Spaces' from 2019, from 'Silenced' from the album 'The Rpwl Experience' from 2008 and 'Unchain The Earth' and 'The Shadow', both from the album 'Beyond Man and Time' from 2012. In short, this live shows that the Germans of 'RPWL', almost 30 years after having started by playing covers of 'Pink Floyd' are still part of the top of the basket of international progressive groups and that they continue to offer us over time sumptuous recordings which, for my part, fit one behind the other in my discotheque of essential progressive albums...
