I introduced you to the Italians of 'Neversin' with their 3rd album 'The Outside In' in 2018 and 2023 sees the release of a new opus, 'Revamp'. Always so discreet on the web, they continue to deliver melodic rock with some incursions into the progressive and the line-up has evolved slightly since it is now 'Nicola Ciarlini' who officiates as singer and who offers us very beautiful performances vocals throughout the 10 compositions.

The start is energetic and catchy with 'Jail' which develops a first pleasant melody that we appropriate from the first listen, then, 'The Stranger' unfolds a more moderate mid-tempo in the form of a slow procession with a catchy new chorus. In a much more moderate style, we continue with the magnificent 'Southern Cross' which is one of my favourites from the album and which takes us on a melancholy ballad accompanied by delicate picking on the guitar, the stronger chorus being beautiful. With 'The Game We Call Life', we come back to a faster rhythm in the form of a real melodic jewel which comes to deliver us new very pleasant melodic lines. Alternately, make way for the ballad 'Long for Love' which rocks us with a magnificent central guitar solo followed by a very beautiful instrumental section, then, 'The Tower – The Stranger Part II' (which follows the part 1 of the eponymous debut album) continues in peaceful rock with rhythmic changes bringing a side progressive in more numerous instrumental sections, the melodic side always being put forward. Follows, the third ballad 'Trust' which has nothing to envy to the first two, 'Nicola Ciarlini' also showing all his vocal talent with a delicious song, then 'Part of the Crime' returns to rock taking us back a few decades back in a long progressive composition with changes in rhythm and intensity. And to finish, the Italians offer us two covers, first of all the energetic 'Aces High' from'Iron Maiden', then the essential 'Comfortably Numb' from 'Pink Floyds', both of which are very faithfully interpreted and show that they are as much at home in muscular rock as in more moderate progressive one.

In summary, the Italians of 'Neversin' offer us very pleasant new melodies that we taste with enormous pleasure and 'Revamp' shows a diversified face between energy and softness and should appeal to all audiences who love a rock with melodic lines that we appropriate at first listen...
