After 'Trust', but not quite in the same style, it's 'Kansas' which celebrating the 40th anniversary, with the two unforgettable albums 'Loftoveture' from 1976 followed by 'Point Of Know Return' from 1977, and this by releasing a sumptuous live featuring 19 compositions of their impressive repertoire. At the time, America discovered the progressive rock coming from Europe and among others, "Kansas" and "Styx" were the 2 key bands of this period on the other side of the Atlantic. After an ups and downs period in the 2000s with permanent line-up changes that allowed them to continue to turn during this period, the group came out with 'The Prelude Implicit' in 2016, which reconnected to the first period (see Here) and 2017 sees the release of this anthology live. The album is divided into 2 parts, a first part sweeping the various opus of the group and a second taking up the set of 'Loftoverture' and ending with 'Portrait' of 'Point Of Know Return'. On the interpretation side, everything is in place and the recording is of high quality and although some will regret 'Steve Walsh', for my part, 'Ronnie Platt' has managed to integrate perfectly into this new line up. In short, this 40 years live is a success for this legendary band and should appeal to all fans of the first hour but also may allow to make known 'Kansas' to a wider audience...
