The Norwegians of 'Professor Tip Top' regularly release albums and after 'Life Is No Matter' in 2017, 'Hybrid Hymns' in 2019 et 'Tomorrow is Delayed' in 2020, this is their latest baby 'Lanes of Time' which was released in late 2021.
No surprise for this last opus, the line-up is unchanged and the progressive style with soft and refined ambiences bringing us back a few decades in the past is always present and this, from the beginning with the title song in which 'Sonja Otto' prints a delicate singing and 'Sam Fossbakk' brings a vintage side with his guitar. The continuation continues in this plenitude with the beautiful ballad 'Falling into the Sun', then, after the short instrumental 'The Sound of Protonflow' which can recall certain atmospheres of Alan Parsons Project' in the 70s, 'Isle of Sirens' remains in this period with an introduction to the 'Barclay James Harvest'. With 'The Quest Remains', we embark in a new ballad mixing influences of 'Blackmore's Night' in the first part and atmospheric 'Floydian' ambiences in the second, ambience that we find in the following track 'Shining' which is quite adapted to decompress from a good stressful day. No transition, 'Past Forever' embarks us in a track made of sound effects and a narration reminding the 'On The Run' of 'The Dark Side of the Moon', then, the magnificent ballad 'Shallow Shadow' comes back to a much quieter climate with a new memorable melody and the album ends with the short and haunting 'Time Is' repeating the same musical phrase.

In summary, this new album 'Lanes of Time' is entirely in the continuity of the previous opus 'Tomorrow is Delayed' and the Norwegians of 'Professor Tip Top' continue to offer us a calm and relaxing progressive to be enjoyed quietly with headphones on...
