'Kino' is a progressive rock band that released an album in 2005 and nothing since, but it must be said that its members are already busy in their respective projects : the guitarist 'John Mitchell' is a member of ‘Arena' (which the new album is due out in late May) and 'Frost *', the bassist 'Pete Trewavas' is a member of 'Marillion' and 'Transatlantic' and 'Craig Blundell' is a member of 'Frost *' and also the drummer of' Steven Wilson '. 2018 sees the release of 'Radio Voltaire' to the delight of all fans of groups mentioned above. Indeed, it starts with a great title eponymous of the album and its progressive influences close to 'Steven Wilson' and a first guitar solo where we remember all the feeling of 'John Mitchell'. With 'The Dead Club', the rhythm is more rock with the newcomer 'John Becker' who shows all his talent to the keyboards. The following shows us beautiful ballads like 'Idlewind', 'Temple Tudor', 'Keep The Faith' or the short 'Warmth Of The Sun' (I feel like I hear 'RPWL') interspersed with more punchy titles like 'I Do not Know Why' or 'I Will not Break So Easily Any More' (there's some ‘Genesis' influences in this title) or 'Out of Time'. In summary, although some, given the quality of the artists of this formation, will probably regret the lack of risk-taking, 'Radio Voltaire' is a quality album in the tradition of big progressive rock bands to savor and tame quietly listening after listening...
