'Professor Tip Top' are 4 Norwegians who released their first opus in 2012 and 'Life Is No Matter' is their 4th studio album. We could situate their universe between 'Pink Floyd' and 'Barclay James Harvest', that is to say that they navigate between progressive rock and psychedelic with a sense of melody and a highlight of the keyboards on which the electric guitars come to graft. After the psychedelic 'Entrophy' which sets the scene with its layers of keyboards lined of electronic sound close to 'Jean-Michel Jarre', 'Pieta Europa' is a calm and melodic composition with arpeggios on the guitar reminding me of 'BJH' period 'Eyes Of The Universe'. The continuation is similar to this 2nd title, always very aerial and peaceful with guitar solos close to 'Gilmour' and certainly in the 70s, this album would have made a success. In short, this 'Life Is No Matter' brings us back a few decades and should please all the progressive fans of these days but also all who like a calm and aerian pop... |
