I introduced you to the 'Astral Magic' project just two months ago with the album 'We Are Stardust' which offered us psychedelics straight out of the late 60s and albums continue to emerge with an impressive frequency because, since, two other albums were released in February 2023, 'Wonderland' and 'DeepSpace Expedition', both instrumental and intended, for the first one, for psychedelic purists with sound delusions that are more difficult to grasp and, for the second, to an audience that likes to mix psychedelics with space music, a style popularized in the early years 70 by bands like 'Space' or 'Space Art'. Always masterfully led by the Finnish singer and multi-instrumentalist 'Santtu Laasko', it is the turn of 'The Last Survivors on Planet Earth' to see the light of day with new compositions which this time are sung or spoken and which is closer to the 'We Are Stardust' album than to the last two. No need for a long review to tell you that, once again, all the ingredients are there to return to the psychedelic rock of the beginning with certain sounds from the first albums of 'Pink Floyd' ('Dawn of a New Age') or even ' Stones' ('Monster from the Id') on haunting and repetitive atmospheres with catchy melodies. The eponymous title opens the album and if you hang on to this mostly soaring melodic atmosphere (an exception with the last two titles 'Shimmer' and 'The Inner Light' more energetic and 'The Color of Adoration' in a pséchédélique more delirious), you should join the set and have a very good time listening in this time machine.

In summary, if you liked 'We Are Stardust', you'll like 'The Last Survivors on Planet Earth' and if you don't know 'Astral magic' and you like the psychedelic that takes you right back to the period splendor of this style, you have come to the right place with the multiple albums released by 'Sannttu Laasko' for three years now...
